Welcome to the 21st century, an era where phones have moved beyond their traditional use as basic tools of communication. The ground-breaking technology called the smartphone has changed the way people communicate, order dinner, or even hail a cab.
Nowadays a casual smartphone user requires about 64GB phone memory, while those who use their mobile phone to the absolute maximum consider phones with storage of 512GB and 1TB to avoid running out of storage space and suffering with a slow phone speed. What happens when you run out of storage space and the Apps for cleaning up your phone memory can’t seem to solve the problem? This was my plight a couple of weeks ago and I’m happy to say I found a solution for it – The SanDisk Dual USB Drive Type-C. Let’s get into it!
Look and Feel
The SanDisk Dual USB Type-C Drive at first glance comes in a sleek easy to tear white pack with colorful bold writings and pictures identifying the product and its functions. Properly sealed in a hidden cellophane seal the drive comes in grey and metallic colors.
On unboxing the SanDisk Dual USB Type-C Drive it seems like it is without a protective cover but the device has a side function that transitions between the USB and the Type C port which is a first of its kind for me. Hiding beneath a metallic construction the drive is easy to hold or carry around in a pocket or in a wallet.
The 20.07mm x 38.1mm x 9.4mm SanDisk Dual USB Drive Type-C is designed specifically for next-generation devices with the new USB Type-C port. It has a High-speed USB 3.1 performance of up to 150MB/s1 which makes users spend less wait time while transferring files between devices whether is photos, pictures, movies songs or any other files. The drive comes in various storage sizes ranging from 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB depending on user need or preference.
The device is compatible with Mac, Windows, Google Chrome OS and Linux courtesy of FAT32 as well all Type C port mobile devices.
Combining the SanDisk Dual USB Drive Type-C with the SanDisk Memory Zone app which is available on the Google Play store makes file management easier and the experience more interesting. The SanDisk Memory Zone app gives the user the liberty to access, view and back up all phone memory files in one location, and it can also move files for more free space.
While I continually use the drive and enjoy its satisfying experience, the benefits of the SanDisk Dual USB Drive Type-C hide the yet to be experienced demerits. I’ll definitely rate it a 10/10! No cap.
